Teaching of Ankara Bag



Beginners: Emphasis on using domestic sewing machine. Patterns are prepared by the tutor. Cover basic construction methods. Personalized parts: bag size and handle construction. 
Ideal for newcomers to bag making, this class introduces students to basic construction methods with the aim to complete a professionally finished bag .

Working with a selection of provided patterns, the students will make a lined bag in either fabric or leather with a simple closure and choice of strap options.


 





Bag sewing and assembling. It is possible to make the bag by using a domestic sewing machines although this will depend on the choice of material. Industrial machines are available should a student choose to use heavier materials or leather during the class. However, the purpose of this course is to show techniques on how to achieve a professional finish.

what´s the material used in these bags (besides the ankara fabric)? is it cardboard?

yes you can us a card board which is sold in the local ,market where shoe and bag making supplies are sold. U can also use what we call mako which is a rubber like material sold in pieces.
